This EDIC 'Powermate' is a 12 inch power head that is meant to be used with a cold water or heated portable extractors as long as they operate within the 50 - 500 PSI range. This power wand attachment has a scrubbing brush that provides agitation for cleaning those extremely soiled areas of carpeting. This tool will actually dispense solution onto your carpet, agitate, and then recover the solution all in one pull back motion. The high speed cylindrical brush spins at 2500 RPM to thoroughly scrub deep down into the fibers of the carpets. As you pull the power head back, the vacuum shoe follows the brush and sucks everything up through a clear plastic tube so you can see exactly what you're recovering.

12 inch Box Extractor Power Head Review
I purchased the 12 inch Box Extractor in October, 2011, and it has been a excellent carpet cleaning tool. The ease of cleaning carpet compared to the standard drag wand is night and day in comparison. I'm less fatigued; it allows me to work faster without losing quality in my work. The ability to see what you are extracting through the clear window on top of the wand was an excellent idea by EDIC. The only problems I've had have been from normal use such as the belt that is attached to the brush which I replaced after 3 years of service. I also had to replace the handle after 3 years of service. I highly recommend this product.
